The Bay of Fires Collection celebrates one of Tasmania's most extraordinary landscapes through handcrafted ceramics designed to be used and treasured every day. Inspired by pristine white sands, crystal-clear turquoise waters and the vibrant orange lichen that blankets the granite coastline, each latte cup captures the quiet beauty of this remarkable place.
Every latte cup is individually hand-thrown on the pottery wheel by ceramic artist Christie Lange before being carefully trimmed and finished by hand. No two cups are ever identical. Small variations in form, glaze and surface celebrate the handmade process and ensure each piece is completely unique.
Every cup is stamped with my maker's mark as a signature of authenticity and craftsmanship.
Each cup is slowly dried before its first kiln firing, allowing the clay to develop strength and stability. It is then glazed by hand using my own carefully developed ceramic glazes before returning to the kiln for its final firing. This considered process creates ceramics that are both beautiful and made for everyday use.
Every glaze has been developed to reflect the landscape surrounding BAY DAYS—soft white sands, brilliant turquoise waters and the unmistakable orange lichen that has made the Bay of Fires famous throughout the world.
