Booking, Cancellation & Transfer Policy

At Christie Lange Ceramics, workshop places are limited and significant preparation takes place prior to each event. This policy is designed to be fair to both participants and the studio while providing flexibility where possible.
If you are unable to attend a workshop, transferring your booking to another person is encouraged and is often the simplest solution. Please read the information below before making a booking.
Workshop Bookings
Your place in a workshop, course, private session or event is confirmed once payment has been received.
As workshop numbers are intentionally kept small, cancellations can have a significant impact on the viability of a class and the opportunity for others to attend.
Participant Cancellations
More than 21 days before the workshop
You may cancel your booking and receive a refund less a $50 administration fee.
Within 21 days of the workshop
Bookings are non-refundable.
If you are unable to attend, you are encouraged to transfer your booking to another person. Where a cancelled place can be filled from a waitlist or through a new booking, a refund may be considered at the discretion of Christie Lange Ceramics, less any administration and payment processing fees incurred.
Transferring Your Booking
If you are unable to attend a workshop, you are welcome to transfer your booking to another person at no additional cost.
Please notify Christie Lange Ceramics of the new participant's name, email address and contact number at least 24 hours prior to the workshop wherever possible.
Transferring your place to another participant is the preferred option where a booking can no longer be used by the original attendee.
Refunds will be provided only in accordance with this Booking, Cancellation & Transfer Policy and any rights available under Australian Consumer Law.
Multi-Session Workshops
Some workshops are delivered over two or more sessions and require attendance at all scheduled sessions.
By booking a multi-session workshop, participants acknowledge that attendance is required at each session. Due to the nature of small-group workshops, missed sessions generally cannot be refunded, rescheduled or made up at a later date.
If you are unable to attend one or more sessions, you may transfer your booking to another participant prior to the commencement of the workshop in accordance with this policy.
Payment Plans
Payment plans may be available for selected workshops, courses and special events.
By selecting a payment plan, you agree to complete all scheduled payments by the due dates provided at checkout.
A workshop place is reserved upon receipt of the initial payment or deposit. As places are limited, the cancellation terms outlined in this policy apply equally to full-price bookings and payment plan bookings.
If you cancel your booking:
• Any refund due will be calculated based on the total workshop fee, not the amount paid to date.
• Any outstanding instalments due prior to the cancellation date remain payable unless otherwise agreed in writing.
• Failure to complete scheduled payments may result in your workshop place being released and participation in future payment plans being declined.
If Christie Lange Ceramics cancels a workshop, all payments received, including deposits and instalments, will be refunded in full.
Workshop Cancellation by Christie Lange Ceramics
Occasionally, workshops may need to be cancelled, postponed or rescheduled due to illness, insufficient bookings, severe weather, emergency circumstances, or events beyond reasonable control.
Where this occurs, participants will be offered either:
• A full refund of all monies paid; or
• A transfer to a future workshop of equal value.
Christie Lange Ceramics is not responsible for travel, accommodation or other incidental expenses incurred by participants.
Ceramic Works
Ceramics is an inherently unpredictable material and process.
Every effort is made to ensure participant work is successfully dried, fired and glazed. However, cracking, warping, glaze variation, kiln damage and other unexpected outcomes can occasionally occur.
While all reasonable care is taken throughout the making and firing process, Christie Lange Ceramics cannot guarantee the successful outcome of individual pieces and refunds will not be provided for work damaged during making, drying, firing or glazing.
Collection of Finished Work
Participants will be notified when their work is ready for collection.
Finished pieces should be collected within two months of notification unless alternative arrangements have been made.
While every care will be taken, Christie Lange Ceramics cannot guarantee storage beyond this period.
Payment Processing Fees
Third-party payment processing fees, including Stripe, Square, PayPal and similar payment providers, are non-refundable and may be deducted from any refund issued.
Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights or remedies available to consumers under Australian Consumer Law.
