Many visitors tell me that seeing artwork where it is made changes the way they experience it.
Before a sculpture reaches an exhibition or a collector's home, it exists among shelves of works in progress, glaze tests, research books, sketches and field observations. It is here that ideas emerge, evolve and slowly take form.
A studio visit offers an opportunity to step behind the gallery wall and experience contemporary ceramics within the place they are created. Whether you're an art collector, a traveller exploring Tasmania, or simply curious about the creative process, you'll be warmly welcomed into my working studio in Binalong Bay.
There is no need to know anything about art. Curiosity is enough.

Every Visit is Different
Because this is an active working studio, no two visits are ever quite the same.
You may arrive while new sculptures are drying on the shelves, glaze tests have just emerged from the kiln or artworks are being prepared for an upcoming exhibition. Sometimes the studio is filled with finished work ready for collectors. At other times it is full of experiments, questions and new directions.
Rather than visiting a static gallery, you'll experience a creative practice as it continues to evolve.

There are two studio visit experiences to choose from. A 30-minute Artist Studio Visit offers time to explore the studio, view available artworks and enjoy conversation about my practice. Alternatively, the 60-minute Hands-on Studio Visit includes all of the above, plus the opportunity to spend time working with clay and experience the material for yourself.

Yes. Available works can be purchased directly from the studio, although there is never any expectation or pressure to buy.
