Access and Inclusion Statement

Christie welcomes visitors with diverse access needs and is happy to discuss individual requirements before booking. Drawing on fifteen years of experience working in disability support, she can adapt communication and the pace of a visit to help visitors feel comfortable and included.

The studio is a working creative space within a garden setting. Its current access has some limitations, described below to help visitors plan.

Parking and getting to the studio

Parking is available on the nature strip. Visitors with mobility requirements can arrange to drive onto the property and park on the front lawn, closer to the studio.

The lawn is generally flat, with slight undulations. The route to the studio includes grass and uneven concrete pavers. There is room to navigate around the large tree using the grass.

Entrance and moving inside

A wide sliding doorway provides entry to the studio, with a step approximately 15 centimetres high.

Wheelchair access and circulation are currently limited by the entrance step and the working layout. The studio should not be considered independently wheelchair accessible. Please contact Christie before booking to discuss whether the space can accommodate your requirements.

Buckets and other working materials may sometimes be on the floor. Please discuss any need for a clear route or additional space before arrival so arrangements can be made.

Toilet facilities

A toilet is available and can accommodate visitors using a walking frame. It is not wheelchair accessible.

Sensory and communication needs

Sensory and communication adjustments can be discussed before your visit. Please let Christie know what would help you participate comfortably, including any requirements relating to communication, pace or the studio environment.

Support workers and companions

Support workers attending to assist a participant are welcome without an admission fee. For separately booked clay workshops, support workers who choose to make their own work pay the applicable workshop fee.

Animals and refreshments

A dog and a cat live on the property. Assistance animals are welcome. Please advise Christie of any animal allergies or concerns before arriving.

Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, chai, herbal teas and a variety of milks are available. Please discuss any allergies or dietary requirements before your visit so available options can be confirmed.

Planning your visit

Studio visits are by appointment. Visitors are always welcome to call Christie on 0402 538 922 or use the website contact form to ask questions and discuss access requirements before booking.

This statement will be updated as facilities and access arrangements change.
