When was the last time you went out simply to do something fun for you?
Join local ceramic artist Christie Lange for a warm and relaxed evening of painting, conversation and connection at Easy Tiger in St Helens. You’ll decorate a handmade ceramic plate, enjoy a drink, meet new people and share a meal together once the painting is finished.
Come with a friend or come on your own. This evening has been created especially for women who would love to get out of the house, try something creative and spend time with others at a similar stage of life. It’s also a lovely way for women who are new to the area to meet people and begin making local connections.
You don’t need to think of yourself as artistic. There is no pressure to produce a masterpiece and no experience is needed. Christie will provide ideas, guidance and encouragement while giving you plenty of freedom to play with colour and create a plate that feels like your own.
Christie will handmake each approximately 20 cm ceramic plate in her Binalong Bay studio, forming it over a smooth beach stone collected from the Bay of Fires. Your plate will be dried and bisque-fired before the event, ready for you to decorate with colourful ceramic underglazes.
During the evening, you will:
Choose your handmade plate
Explore colours, marks, patterns and simple decorative ideas
Paint your plate using ceramic underglazes
Receive friendly guidance and help from Christie
Relax, chat and create alongside a small group of women
Stay for a drink and meal together after the painting is finished
After the event, Christie will take your plate back to her studio, apply a clear glaze and fire it again. Your finished plate will be wrapped and ready for collection from Easy Tiger once the firing process is complete.

She’s Crafty is a beautiful pink blend of gin, Chambord, elderflower, cranberry and fresh lemon, shaken with a silky foam and finished with fresh fruit and mint. It’s fruity, lightly sweet and made for sipping while you paint, chat and settle into the evening. Easy Tiger’s cocktails usually sell for $22, but when you choose the Creative Night Full Experience, your She’s Crafty cocktail is included for just $17 extra. Your complete Paint-a-Plate and cocktail experience is $62.
