Clay Play: Parent & Child Workshop
Spend quality time together while exploring the creative possibilities of clay. In this fun and engaging workshop, parents and children will work side-by-side to create their own ceramic pieces, learning simple hand-building techniques while sharing a meaningful creative experience.
Workshop Description
Some of the most meaningful memories are made when we create something together.
Designed for one adult and one child, the Clay Play: Parent & Child Workshop offers an opportunity to slow down, connect, and share the joy of making through clay. In this relaxed and beginner-friendly workshop, both participants will create their own ceramic pieces while exploring hand-building and sculpting techniques in a supportive studio environment.
Guided by ceramic artist Christie Lange, you'll learn simple clay construction methods that encourage creativity, curiosity, and playful exploration. Participants are free to create their own unique pieces, drawing inspiration from imagination, nature, animals, or favourite objects.
This workshop is designed to be accessible for all skill levels, making it ideal for families who want to try something new together. Along the way, participants will gain confidence working with clay while enjoying the opportunity to learn, create, and connect side-by-side.
More than simply a pottery workshop, Clay Play is an invitation to spend dedicated time together away from screens, schedules, and everyday distractions.
After the workshop, all works will be professionally glazed and kiln fired before being ready for collection.

Why Clay Play?
Clay offers a unique opportunity to connect through shared creativity.
Working with clay encourages imagination, communication, problem-solving, and confidence while providing a fun and memorable experience for both adults and children. This workshop is designed to foster connection through making, giving families an opportunity to spend quality time together while creating something meaningful with their own hands.
Why Create Together?
This workshop has been intentionally designed around the experience of making side-by-side.
Rather than simply supervising, adults participate fully in the creative process. Both adult and child create their own pieces, learn together, and share in the excitement of seeing their ideas transformed into clay.
The result is not only a collection of handmade ceramics, but a shared memory that lasts long after the workshop has ended.
