Hug Mug & Snack Plate Workshop
Create your own Hug Mug and matching Snack Plate in this fun and beginner-friendly clay workshop. Using simple pinching techniques, you'll create a handmade ceramic set perfect for hot chocolate, tea and biscuits, or cosy moments shared with family and friends. Suitable for adults and children aged 8+.
Date: Saturday 5 December 2026
Time: 10:00am – 11:30am
Workshop Description
There is something special about drinking from a mug you've made yourself.
In this relaxed and beginner-friendly clay workshop, you'll create a Hug Mug and matching Snack Plate using one of the oldest ceramic techniques — pinching clay by hand. Simple, tactile, and enjoyable for all ages, this process allows participants to create functional ceramic pieces without any previous experience.
Guided by ceramic artist Christie Lange, you'll learn how to shape clay into a comfortable mug designed to fit naturally in your hands, along with a matching snack plate perfect for biscuits, slices, chocolates, or afternoon treats.
This workshop is designed to be accessible, enjoyable, and creative, making it ideal for individuals, families, visitors, and anyone curious about working with clay. Along the way you'll learn the fundamentals of clay construction while enjoying refreshments in a welcoming studio environment overlooking the beautiful coastline of Binalong Bay.
After the workshop, your pieces will be professionally glazed and kiln fired before being ready for collection.
Whether you're creating a special memory with a child, enjoying time with friends, or simply trying something new, this workshop offers an enjoyable introduction to ceramics and the simple pleasure of making something useful with your own hands.
