Designed for slow mornings, favourite teas, strong coffee, and simple moments of pause, you'll learn ceramic hand-building techniques while creating a functional handmade set to use and enjoy for years to come.
Date: Saturday 31 October 2026

Cost: $165 per person
Some mugs become favourites.
They're the ones we reach for every morning. The ones that fit comfortably in our hands and become part of the small rituals that shape our days.
In this beginner-friendly pottery workshop, you'll create your own BIG Mug and matching snack plate from stoneware clay. Designed for coffee, tea, hot chocolate, afternoon treats, or slow weekend breakfasts, this handmade set is intended to be both beautiful and useful.
Guided step-by-step by ceramic artist Christie Lange, you'll learn hand-building techniques to construct a generously sized mug holding approximately 600–700ml, along with a matching snack plate designed to sit alongside it.
Throughout the workshop you'll explore form, proportion, texture, and surface decoration while learning practical ceramic skills that can be applied to future clay projects. You'll be encouraged to personalise your work through texture, mark making, and decorative details, creating pieces that reflect your own aesthetic and daily rituals.
No previous clay experience is necessary. Whether you're completely new to pottery or returning to a creative practice, this workshop offers a welcoming introduction to working with clay in a small-group studio setting.
After the workshop, your work will be professionally glazed and kiln fired, ready to collect and use at home.
