✨ Personalized Guidance: We keep group sizes small (3 people) so that you experience the benefits of 1:1 teaching and assistance from our skilled instructor. Receive tailored guidance to enhance your technique and bring out the best in your work.
✨ 3-Hour Studio Access: Enjoy an extended 3-hour access window to our well-equipped studio. Immerse yourself in the artistic process with ample time to mold, shape, and refine your creations.
✨ Flexible Creations: From functional vessels and tableware to awe-inspiring sculptural pieces, our studio is your workshop. Unleash your creativity and craft the ceramic objects you've always envisioned. You will be supported to make the vessels, objects or sculptures that you want to make.
🎨 Decorate and Enhance Your Creations: Take your artistry to the next level by learning how to decorate your clay creations with colored underglazes, imprinting, and carving designs. Our expert instructors will guide you through the process, ensuring you gain the skills needed to apply glazes beautifully and effectively. Christie Lange - Ceramic Artist and Workshop Facilitator
Welcome! I’m Christie Lange, a ceramic artist inspired by nature, exploring ecology and human relationships to living things through the lens of regeneration and renewal. I hold a Bachelor of Contemporary Arts - Visual Arts with First Class Honours from the University of Tasmania, graduating in 2020. Entering my 10th year of experience in creating intricate ceramic pieces, I specialize in translating the delicate beauty of nature—lichens, mosses, and fungi—into captivating art. I have participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions and been a finalist in several art prizes, including the 2020 Women’s Art Prize Tasmania and the 2024 Bay of Fires Art Prize. In 2019, I was awarded the Art Farm Birch's Bay Small Sculpture Acquisitive Prize and won the Boxed-In Sculpture Prize People's Choice Award in 2021. My work aims to evoke a sense of wonder and appreciation for the natural world.
I believe that everyone has the potential to create, regardless of experience. In my workshops, I foster a warm and encouraging atmosphere where you can explore your creativity and learn new skills.
