Art Therapy for NDIS Participants at Binalong Bay

Individual art therapy sessions to assist with mental health and wellbeing

Art Therapy for NDIS participants

Sessions are specifically designed for participants to play & explore their own creativity with clay.

Clay sessions can enable people to slow down, learn to play, help develop creative problem-solving skills, increase resilience, reduce stress, and manage symptoms of depression and anxiety.

Through learning basic skills in playing with clay each person will be supported to express themselves creatively. Within sessions Christie works alongside each person to gently guide individuals to explore self-expression, achieve self-awareness, generate self-confidence, improve communication skills, build self-esteem and experience self-compassion whilst connecting with like-minded people.

FAQs

What can I expect in an art therapy session?

You can expect to be greeted warmly and made to feel safe. You will be supported and guided to explore where you are at on the day; being led into art processes and mediums that will help you illuminate your creative self; and furthermore, express yourself in ways that help you feel empowered. As each session is tailored to you and your needs, what happens may look and flow differently from session to session.

What can I make in the session?

You can make whatever you like, be it functional or sculptural. There is no judgment on what you make, the journey you take whilst making is the focus. Everything you make is valuable for you. And everything you make can be glazed and fired to completion.

How long is the session?

90 minutes; however, as sessions are tailored to your needs you can extend your session if you would like more time to explore, make and build on your skills. You can discuss the duration of your session when making a booking.

How frequently can I book?

You can book weekly, fortnightly or monthly sessions. To get the most from your sessions we recommend recurring weekly bookings at the same time each week.

How much does it cost?

Art therapy is $130 per hour all-inclusive of materials, underglaze, glaze, kiln firings, clay teaching and private 1:1 session facilitation. NDIS participant sessions are booked directly with Christie. These sessions are invoiced and can be emailed direct to your specified plan management service.
